This post is a little late this week. I\u2019ve been enjoying time off at home with my family and working on my boat. This post happened the week before Christmas. I left off with the ribs in Illinois. I started working early the next morning and it was a good week. I got to my pickup location and despite the rumor of them taking forever to load, they got to me quickly. I headed for MN where I dropped off the steel tubing I got in IL. Next, I picked up a load of processing and drying equipment for a marijuana growing facility that was being built in CO. I drove across NE and got a couple of really good pictures of a frozen lake at sunrise. Then, when I got to KS, I saw this really neat abandoned farmhouse, which I stopped to photograph. As I was driving south from the house, I saw one of the most amazing things I\u2019ve ever seen. Flying above me were thousands of Canadian geese. The sky was full of them. I was mesmerized. Luckily, I managed to snap a few pictures of them, and the patterns were fantastic. I can honestly say I\u2019ve never seen that many big birds flying in formation before. \u00a0While on my way to deliver, the dispatcher called and wanted to know if I wanted to go to El Paso to get a gearbox for Brighton. I like these loads and want to get back into this run. Of course, I said, \u201cYes\u201d to the load. I took a new road from Lajunta to Trinidad. I snapped a couple of pictures of the Spanish Peaks in southern CO. I managed to get to within a few hours of El Paso to a place called Vaughn in NM. The next day, I hurried to El Paso and picked up my gearbox and headed back north. I ran out of time at the rest area near Waterous again, so that is where I stayed the night. In the morning, I drove to Brighton. I was only an hour late for my appointment, which actually worked out because they were shorthanded and couldn\u2019t get to anyone for a couple of hours. That meant I only had to wait an hour instead of two. Once I was unloaded, the dispatcher sent me home for the holiday, and that is where I\u2019ve been for the last few days.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
