So it has been a few more weeks of just crazy driving. I have fixed most of the little quirks with Rana and she seems to be running great. To catch you up since my last post I got a load from CA to Golden, CO and then from Gypsum to Billings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I bounced back to Lovell, Wy for another round to Corona, then there was a load from Long Beach area where a really nice driver noticed I was about to hit the wall while chaining my coils he came over and offered me an ice-cold power aid which until he stopped me, I hadn\u2019t noticed how bad I felt. I guess I looked it. That really hit the spot and it made me notice I was being a little too single minded we had a great chat for a couple of minutes. I finished chaining down my coils and took off for the high country. I spent 3 hours in traffic from my pickup to the base of Cajon Pass the L.A. side. In traffic I always wonder what the cause if the slowdowns are. Typically, you never see anything. One time there was a young lady in a tight outfit with a broken-down car that seemed to be the cause. They all seemed to be slowing down to look at her but not to stop and help. Once I got out of the basin I moved with purpose to get out of Commiefornia. I made it as far as Mesquite, NV before I ran out of time and go. I got there so late in the evening there were no spots left for parking so I curb camped which turned out to be a great idea. It was so quiet and no refers or APUs running next to me. I slept in a bit and decided to take it easy going through the Virgin River Gorge it is a fantastic drive. I can\u2019t seem to get enough of it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I drove across Utah on I-70 towards Denver again. I stopped at the San Rafael Swell overlook I got to snap a few pictures and just chill for a few. It is very rare that you have that place to yourself, which I did for 30 minutes or so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there I stopped at this little rest area in Fruita Co I had a great dinner at a Mexican place there a block from the rest area. This is also the location for a Vietnam memorial for all the local soldiers who were lost. It was a very nice memorial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn\u2019t get to the receiver before they closed so I took my time going up the canyon and into the mtns. I found a neat little place to have my lunch, which I believe used to be the old road, I snapped some pictures of the rocks and the bend in the river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got to the receiver in the evening and camped out there. In the morning they unloaded me fairly quickly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dispatchers couldn\u2019t seem to find me a load so I went and got the truck washed. I finally suggested they get me a wallboard load to Billings like last week which they did. I hurried over the mtns and got loaded and then right back to go up the interstate to Casper. I got home late but still managed to get a shower at home and to sleep in my own bed. Due to how late I got to Casper I couldn\u2019t leave until ten which cut my time really close to deliver on Friday but I made it.
