I have been away for a while. Sorry to my 3 viewers. I have been working on the boat a little mostly trying to keep myself employed. I am no longer driving the truck as it takes me too far from my family. Lately I have been helping a friend with some improvements to his home. I may start posting some pictures here if I can do it without violating anyone’s privacy. I started to make a video about casting lead but I have hit a snag as I can’t seem to post it here, I’ll try to get it posted in the future.
On the boat front I’m almost ready to cast the ballast keel parts. I have been preparing the molds to make the casts. I’m hoping to cast the first of the 3 pieces in the next few weeks. Once I’m done casting I will then attach them to the keelson and glass the whole thing in place. I don’t like the idea of the lead being exposed and it will probably be rather rough. Encapsulating it will allow me to fair it some. These are the last steps before I turn it over. In preparation for moving it out of the shop to flip it over I put the rack up on wheels last weekend.
