I reached a bit of a milestone today. I finally finished the planking on MEA. While bending the last set of strakes into place I cracked them both right near the ends. Not catastrophic though I’ll just have to grind out a little of the ply and replace it with fiberglass. The quality of plywood I can get here doesn’t like to be bent and twisted. In addition to finishing the planking I also started trimming the ends of the strakes and smoothing the inner stem in preparation for putting on the outer stem and then the keel and skeg. I’m really excited to get to these next steps as it gets me closer to splashing her. I’m close to finishing filling in all the little gaps where the initial epoxy wasn’t enough to fill them. Unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow I don’t get to stay home and get paid like some people do during this corona thing.
